Değer Deniz Case :Teenager detained in connection with murder of Turkish musician


İstanbul police have detained a 17-year-old teenager who is suspected of brutally killing musician Değer Deniz, who was found strangled to death on Tuesday in her apartment in İstanbul's central district of beyoğlu.

After examining security camera records near the slain woman's house since the murder took place, police identified a man who is suspected of killing the 39-year-old singerafter he entered her house for the purpose of burglary.
According to the police, C.M. entered Deniz’s house from the window on Monday night. After the woman woke up as he was stealing her mobile phone and clarinet, the man strangled her to death.

Deniz was found dead at her house on Tuesday evening. Orhan Deniz, who had not heard from his sister in two days, went to her apartment at around 9 p.m. After ringing the bell for a while, he called a locksmith and entered the apartment. The brother reportedly found his sister, who was living alone in her apartment, dead on the ground with her hands bound.
Police teams were dispatched to the area around the apartment. Reports said the victim's hands were tied up with a cord from a phone charger and that she had been strangled with a bag strap after trying to resist an attack.
